At Tapestry, we believe every child deserves the chance to participate in sports, regardless of their financial situation. Sports build confidence, teamwork, discipline, and lifelong friendships—and no child should be left on the sidelines because they don’t have the right gear.

Here’s how Tapestry makes a difference:

Donations - Play it Forward 

We collect and curate donated collections of gently used sporting equipment from generous community donors. From football cleats to dance shoes, we support most high school–sanctioned sports.

Donors can feel great knowing their gear is helping kids thrive. Families can access athletic gear at no cost and give their children the opportunity to grow through sports.

Please email a Tapestry volunteer to schedule a time to drop off donations at Tapestry's location in Rockford. 
 

Personalized Support - Game On

Families and schools can submit requests for specific gear and sizes. We work to match each child with the equipment they need to play safely and confidently.

At this time, Tapestry is collecting requests for sport gear via email. Please include the following in your request: 

• Child or teens sport 
• Size or range of acceptable sizes, include gender if relevant to size request,  
• Gear requested
• Timeline in which gear is required
